Slight Problem

Can I introduce you to my latest challenge, knitted in Colinette Jitterbug colour Castagna. The pattern is Cafe Curtains which has proved fast to knit, uses less yarn than others AND has taught me how to knit short row heels and toes.

Do you get the feeling somethings not quite right?

I loved the colour until, on the second sock, this appeared.

I trust you can see the huge black/green lump.

What to do?
Its 27th March
These are obviously part of my March quota.
The pool will be hidden by shoes/boots.

Carry on and ignore it, thats what I am going to do.

Sundara Yarn

Don't you just love the colour of this, well maybe not for those who don't like pink!

I have had my eye on this ladys yarn for sometime but they sell out quick. I jumped at the chance when this one was issued to celebrate the first birthday. Should have it sometime in April.

Ebay and Replacements

Managed to clear a few unwanted items on Ebay and found a few more to try this week, Can't bring myself to sell any Posh Yarn though. Its amazing how you collect things that aren't really what you want or how your tastes change.

Now for a small stash replacement exercise which is much more my taste.

Lornas Laces Shepherd Sport in Black Purl , so soft and a lovely colour = Ella for me. Brittany Birch Crochet hook for this years education. Huge Addi Circular needle for the Moebius class.
AND this just hopped into my shopping cart, got to make the most of postage. Lornas Laces Shepherd Sock in Lakeview.

So many patterns

I love this Argosy Wrap. Have knit one Argosy scarf and am starting another this weekend.

I think before I splash out on the yarn for this I will try and sneak a visit to Coldspring Mill to see if they have any Noro Bargains. Do you think my husband will notice a slight detour, possibly not if Bettys in Ilkley or Harry Ramsdens in Guiseley (The original with chandeliers-unless theyve remodelled it since I was last there) are used as bribes.

Red Nose/Toes Day

Thankfully I don't have a cold so no Red Nose but I do have Red Toes.

Decisions Decisions

I have an urge to knit some sort of Lace on a bigger scale than socks. April is going to be the month I start, after my visit to Stash. So the million dollar question is which one.

Shoalwater Shawl

OR

Ella

Then we will have the problem of which colour Lorna's Laces to go for, I am leaning towards Black Purl but Mineshaft is also tempting.

Socks That Rock

One down. Very easy knit apart from toe for some reason I lost it there, I think the quality of some of the singing on Celebrity Fame Academy may have had something to do with it!

Have booked a Moebius class so I know what April will be and that's after I have bought the complete stock of Stash Yarns, taking SIL to restrain me. Although I hope they have some Fleece Artist Sea Cell sock yarn left.

For Sale

I have finally been shamed into de-stashing, basically getting rid of the yarns that I thought I just had to have and now don't know what to do with. There's even some cashmere been prised from my mitts and you may notice that there are a couple of, shall we say, vibrant yarns. So a very willing party will be busy on Ebay this weekend, he thankfully has a friend who requires some training!
Finally, I was trying to refrain from starting on my new acquisitions until I had cleared a few older residents but a certain make shouted so loud from its box that I felt obliged to release it. STR January One pattern Central Air and the colour is more realistic in the close up. The yarn is living up to the recommendations but I think I will be waiting til Christmas for more.

Bettys specialities

Once again I have been in York for the weekend. The picture above is the best we could get through glass of Bettys window display in Northallerton, marzipan farm yard and lots of chocolate specialities for Easter. they sure have some skilled and very patient staff. The Breakfasts aren't bad either.

Due to the train journeys I managed to get quite a bit done on the "Red Toes" Day Socks one is complete and I hope to finish the other tomorrow. Knit in The Yarn Yard Shelter Charity Yarn and the pattern is SKS Baby Cable.

AND
Of course I have enough yarn and there is no reason to acquire anymore! WRONG. Schaefer Anne which was a bargain £8 from HipKnits, the colours are autumnal but at 560m per skein the possibilities are endless.

Sock clubs don't count because you have already paid in advance! This is the Yarn Yards March offering which I think is the best so far but then I like a bit of green to warm up blue.

Sock it to Me - February 2007

I have had a few close shave this month, no doubt they are down to me. Despite this and the short month I managed a few socks.
2 Complete pairs which are the aforementioned Razorshell pattern in Colinette Jitterbug and Hipknits merino.
3 1/2 socks! To complete the pairs started in January. If you think the yellow is bright I have a pair of walking boots to match, don't know what possessed me.

Nearly forgot the late runner. In the yarn I was trying to save Posh Yarns Emily in Polka. The pattern is Lichen and yes these were my Waterloo, I did run out of yarn so had to use a very good match, Posh Yarns Sock Club yarn from November I think. These do look slightly mis-shaped but I only have a size 4 foot. They do fit honestly.

Totals 3 pairs and 3 1/2 socks.
Think March may be a little plain or just plain slow as I have cast on a pair of Baby Cable from SKS which I want to do but don't find the pattern very fast. Perhaps this is because I have been working with thicker wools for a month.
